The story of a photographer

The Beginning

My passion with photography began in my teenage years when I picked up my father's 35mm analog Minolta film camera. The first couple of rolls of film were all out of focus, over and under exposed. But when I took my first analog photography class in high school and processed a photograph in the darkroom. I saw a frozen moment in time appear out of nothing. It was so magical to me and I was hooked!

The Experience

I continued my analog film studies at Humber College in the Creative Photography Program, and mastered the basics of light, shadow and composition. But it was many years out on the field where I learned the importance of connecting with people. To me a photograph shouldn't just be another pretty picture, it should have a story that resonates with you and connects to you emotionally. My job as a photographer is to paint you in the right light and capture the right moment that tells your story.

The Next Chapter

In 2019, my daughter Cassandra was born and I became father for the first time. YAY! This new chapter in my life gave me more purpose to preserve those precious unscripted moments with my daughter. Capturing the journey and growth of my child and my own journey and growth as a new parent has been the most rewarding experience. I can't wait to reminiscing those shared memories with my daughter as she grows older.

The Story Continues...

In the middle of the Pandemic, my little family of three was to add a new member. Unfortunately In 2020, we lost our precious angel due to complications during the pregnancy. It was the most painful experience because there was nothing we could have done to save our baby's life. It was emotionally draining and depressing for months. However, this hardship taught us how important it was to love family no matter what. It taught us that life isn't always rainbows and sunshine and that we should cherish what we already have.

Our Miracle

In 2021, my third daughter Alyssa was born. It was an emotional rollercoaster with her delivery. My wife had to undergo emergency C-section. For the first 5 minutes after the delivery, the doctors and nurses had to perform manual breathing because she was in shock. It was the longest 5 minutes of my life, because I thought I was going to lose another baby. But when she finally cried, I could finally breath a sigh of relief. This black and white photograph is so special to me, because it was my first contact with her.
